Re: What is the process of designing a new Marshall amp mode

there's a gap in the market for an 8-10 watt.
only one i've seen floating round is an old vox 10w that he wants 1000's for.

Re: What is the process of designing a new Marshall amp mode

What I remember Surf saying was the engineer is given a project and a budget, they then start making prototypes until Marshall buys off on it. Then the amp is given to there design department where they design the looks. I know Steve unfairly took a bashing on the MA but had nothing to do with desi...

Re: What is the process of designing a new Marshall amp mode

I think in a way some Marshalls has what you can say a more modern tone and some more vintage. But somehow i think it's more in the features than in the tone. Give any Marshall to an older guy like Bernie Marsden or Eric Clapton and they will make it sound vintage. It's in how they play and how the...

Re: What is the process of designing a new Marshall amp mode

a master volume on the C5 would have been helpful- more useful than the low power mode... especially at 4am in the morning. who designed that amp? you get a bit tired having to crank it to get tone. was that cost or design? sticking to old tones doesn't mean having to not modernize an amp. not in to...

Re: What is the process of designing a new Marshall amp mode

first, i would assume they have a sound they want to emulate? ( that's what i look for in an amp- the sound i want to hear it make ). then they have to know how to make it. if they're good they'll get it right. if not so good, just another amp. i'm guessing there's a decision making process, cost cu...

Re: Guitar picks??

i was interested to see at checkout how much they'd charge for postage for this 1 x v5 guitar pick and i'm interested in seeing how it's packaged. i would have preferred them throwing it in an envelope and then postage would have cost me less than a dollar. ... i will be very surprised if it comes i...

Re: Class 5 Combo with Class 5 extension cab?

in low power mode i can play the C5 combo with any cab with the half extension into the headphone socket

be nice to be able to do that in full power.
the 2 x 10's in low power sound pretty good- fills the sound out.
... much nicer

Re: Guitar picks??

Give V-Picks a serious try. I've used Dunlop Tortex, Big Stubbies, Ultem, Ultex and ended up giving them all away when I switched to V-Picks a couple of years ago. They are simply the best picks by far imho. http://v-picks.com well, i've taken your advice and i've bought one ( 1! ) from the states....
