Re: VM & JMD thru one 4x12 cab

Hi, I have the JMD:1 50 watt head and the 1960A Lead Cab 4x G12T-75watt. Im looking at buying a Vintage Modern 100 watt head and 425A cab to use in their own right - but also occurs to me the possibility for using the two heads together! Question - can i put the JMD and VM heads both thru the 1960A...

Re: JMD 501 Crackling/static noise

most probably valves, but could also be the jack sockets need a clean, they can oxidise over time which causes crackles pops and static noise. buy some electrical socket cleaner like servisol super 10, spray a small amount, (and i mean small - dont be trigger happy!), into all sockets and repeatedly...

Re: Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

Most audio cards have separete MIC Input and Line Input. There is a switch which selects wished input. I recommend to use Line Input for this purpose. Thanks Sikter, can i ask - IS that because the line input is -10dbv. Is that equivalent to a -10db pad/in line attenuator? http://recordmixandmaster...

Re: Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

Thanks Steve for pointing that out, i should have made clear why i was including the phantom info. I have some condenser mics that don't have built in pads, so if i'm going to buy one it might as well have the phantom pass thru option built in. Just so people know what options are out there, good t...

Re: Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

Many Thanks to SteveD for this reply to my PM. "The output Z of the emulated out is about 220 ohms and I suspect the input Z of the live mixing desk or recording console will be quite high so there is no loading effect to worry about. I would try the 200 ohm/10dB. This should drop the signal level ...

Re: Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

The quoted impedance on the input of my recording device is, (Balanced input) 1KΩ balanced (2 hot).
Just need to know the output impedance of the JMD and then i can start figuring out what the needed impedance for the line attenuator would need to be, possible the canfords may not be suitable?

Re: Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

Found some more detailed specs for the canford attenuators. http://www.canford.co.uk/ProductResources/ig/2484.pdf Nominal impedance 200 ohms: Attenuation accuracy ± 0.2dB when used with source and load impedances of approx 150-200 ohms. Nominal impedance 600 ohms: Attenuation accuracy ± 0.2dB when ...

Re: Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

Thanks jeff, yeah im lost as to what the impedance for the emulated line out is. Sure would be good to know. Just about to have a read up on couple articles on the SOS website re impedance. http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan03/articles/impedanceworkshop.asp http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/1994_art...

Emulated Line Out - IN-LINE ATTENUATOR - 200 or 600ohm

Hi guys, Im Loving the amp - now want to do some recording - both when playing live and home recording. I want to get a in line attenuator to deal with that hot output signal. can anyone please tell me what the output impedance of the emulated line out is? Have found a range on canfords website. ht...

2 JMD1 50 Watts, stereo set up

Hi, Im loving my JMD1, purchased couple days before Christmas. Now Im thinking i want to get another 50 watt so i can have a stereo set-up with two cabs. What would be the best way to set this up, can i run the pre amp out from amp 1 into the return on amp 2, and then speaker out from each amp into ...
