Re: Santiago´s new Amp!

nice ! but where is the HT fuse ? :D (edit : ok I thought this was the mains fuse but it's in the IEC plug) https://www.session.de/out/pictures/master/product/9/KONG_6810HW_8.jpg looks to me the mini-board is where the modded gain structure comes from (a bit like the cold-clipper switch mod with a b...

Re: So I am building my own 6912 /1912 extension cab

I'll just add, but it's not to say you shouldn't, after all if you really want to do some woodwork, go for it, but a used 1912 is often to be found at very low prices. Personally I would buy one used and re-tolex it and change grill cloth to my taste and finally put a good speaker.

Re: 6100 tips thread

useful tip about the half power switch : this switch only disconnects the cathode from V8 and V11 so - you can remove them if you want (filament stays connected so it might wear the tubes almost as much as if you were using them) - even if it's not that big of a deal, there's now a mismatch on the o...

I don’t know if it’s age or if those pcbs are fragile but yes they’re prone to do that yes :/

Re: Studio Vintage 20 with Fuzz

I ain't sugarcoating it, hate it. I think the fuzz took away all the note definition. :winking Using any plexi type amp assumes good technique on your part, why add a dirt box and muddy what you paid for. I think the distortion on tap is plenty. because Jimi and Eric did that, maybe :D They're diff...

It is. Santiago even said about the mini-jub that you could put any octal base power tube in it... If it's the same PA on the new ones, that should apply too

just for the sake of a reissue + small form factor, of course.
I'd buy it, I think...

We're many to think he mistook it, doesn't look like it on the gutshot. looks the switch changes some tap to another on the mains tranformer, so our guess (me and people from marshallforum) is it's a lower plate voltage/bias setting

Re: Modulus Amp Mod800 build (2204 circuit)

nice things to learn when you're building an amp like this, for exemple, I learned that one of the main differences between 2203 and 2204 (of course there's obviously the power and clean headroom difference, AND the OT which has a slight influence) is the NFB : the nfb resistor has the exact same va...

Re: Modulus Amp Mod800 build (2204 circuit)

oh wiring could be much cleaner, i didn't bother twisting the heaters for exemple (no hum though so they must be close enough) and the mods make it less clean too (without loop and PPIMV it's super clean with no wire above the turretboard)

well the way this connector behaved is not normal at all, mine are pristine and hold very firmly... except one which got desolderd when removing the connector (had to resolder it : connector >> solder joint :D
