Re: Question about 6100 circuit

I have considered the ClassicTone choke in the first place (since I've used their transformers before) but couldn't justify the shipping time & cost. Instead I went for a JCM800 choke made by Dagnall: https://modulusamplification.com/JCM800-Style-Choke-P5763905.aspx as i couldn't find exact specs f...

Re: Question about 6100 circuit

yup :) but it's in reference of page 2 or 3 where this particular resistor was discussed as a 680 Ohm. This mistake is logic as the red ring seems to fade/age to Brown like the one juste beside it, but beware ;)

Re: Question about 6100 circuit

R236 is a 6k8 Ohm not a 680 Ohm. I think the third ring as faded from red to brown on the resistor but it's pretty clear on the original LE/Blue Tolex schematics and a test confirms it...

Who are they ?

Looks like most of our 30th have almost the same stickers (is it the same in JCM900 from these years ?). WHO ARE : - Julie (PSU/Power amp/Preamp) - Josie (Power amp) - Alison B (control board) - Alison (midi board), not the same as Alison B, writing very different - MC (control) - MG (preamp) - AA (...

Re: Question about 6100 circuit

wow looks almost brand new ! I'm wondering if the choke would be a good addition. not much space to fit it on the 6101 chassis though. Which choke did you choose ? The classictone would be cheap and with the right specs but the shipping from the us is quite a steal… ($50 for a $21 part, not that it'...

Re: Started the recap on my 6100 today

About the 5.6k R between the green wire and pin 5, it really look like a typo BUT I'm pretty sure mine was factory mounted, this amp was never serviced before I bought it. It sure doesn't make sense but this mistake was still there on the tenth version off the schematic. Isn't there ANY way it would...
