Set Lists

I got this idea from Tnjpekar's post about looking for new material and posting his set list. I'm always interested what other bands are playing, so let's see it. Post the songs your band is actually doing, not what you'd like to do or are thinking about, lets see actual set lists. Mine, so far Craz...

Re: PRS

Yes, I replaced the pups with Bare Knuckle Mules. They are great.I thought the stock bridge was thin and brittle sounding, and the neck, muddy. I also replaced the 5 way rotary with a 3 way toggle and push pull pots, and put in a bone nut. I think it's a shame to pay PRS $ and have to replace pickup...

Re: PRS

I've been playing a PRS Custom 22 for 15years, the last 3 or so with the VM. No, it's not a Gibson, not a Fender. It is not soulless. It is a well made instrument that has many pluses and a couple minuses. The pickups, IMO, despite the hype, aren't the best. A switch with (name yoour favorite brand ...

Re: Legends you have met face to face......

I don't have quite the list as some of you. I met Robert Fripp who was not that pleased to be met. I met the band Kansas in a parking lot in Chicago, nice guys. And while not a guitarist, certainly a legend, I met Robert Moog, the inventor of Moog synthesizers at party years ago. He looked lost and ...

Re: Fenders, Marshalls, getting laid all the same thing?...

Well, your tech does have a point. BB King would sound like BB King if he played through the Edge's set up. Santana would sound like Santana if he played without his billion dollar set up. Jimmy Page played much of the Zep albums with a Tele and Supro amp, but we all think " LP and Marshall". Our so...

Re: 2266 on Backorder

I do live in a large Metro market, Chicago, so it's maybe a little more competitive. Sam Ash had only 2 at that price, new "floor models" still had the plastic info sheet on front. Went to GC, told them what they had, and said they would do the same if I'd buy it now.

Re: 2266 on Backorder

I didn't see any 2266's, but I've seen 2466's at Sam Ash and GC in stock this weekend at crazy low prices! Way lower than 2266 money.
Are we allowed to talk $ here?

Re: Best Guitar Sounds Ever Survey

I can't believe nobody said Clapton's tone from the Mayall "Beano" album.
Isn't that the Holy Grail of KT66 tone?

Re: Eminence Red Fang....considering a switch

I use 2 30 watt Red Fangs in a 1936 cab w/2266 head.
I like them a lot. Even over the vintage 30's. Didn't know they made a 50 watt version . Probably just trying to keep up with the Gold model.

Re: major difference between VM 50 and VM 100 ??

You really need to go to a good music store and try some amps out. The Vintage Modern IMO is a very articulate amp, even at high volume. It's not Blizzard of Nails distortion. No forum can answer what you like. If your using it mostly in a studio setting, maybe a Class 5 or something smaller than 50...

A tip of the Hat

I'm not a frequent contributer to this forum, but a frequent reader, and I just wanted to tell you this is the best musical instrument forum I've seem on the web. Seriously, take a look around. Most, even the factory sponsored ones, are "look what I got, no look what I got" for people who have never...

Re: Sunday afternnon at the music store

Steve, do you think the Class 5 really compares?
I'm talking a club amp, maybe miked Ok, but not just a bedroom amp.
