Re: Now this is getting ridiculous

Mine don´t rattle! I´ve played loud many hours since I got it. It really sounds good, Bass@3, Middle@6, Treble@5 and Volume@6-8. Even in a pretty loud bandsituation it holds up! A drivepedal or a fuzz in front.... watch out!!!! The speaker in the C5 sounds great, much bigger than it is, pretty bassh...

1987X VS. JTM45?

I´ve been looking around for a Marshall 1987X RI or a JTM45 RI. I´ve never played one of them but listened to clips on the net. I got a VM 2266 with a 2X12 (Vintage30) and the LDR are as I understand pretty much a JTM45. Does anyone have any experience with the two reissues and can compare them, are...

Re: New Fulltone Fat Boost ver 3

I´ve got a #47 of the 1 version and it´s great with any type of marshall amp, just to kick it up a bit. I´ve tryed the later Fat-Boost and it did´nt work for me!
Any thoughts about the GT-500?

Re: Fulltone Mini Deja Vibe 2

I think you loose the Vibe, the swoosh gets similar to a phaser effect if you put the DV after drivepedals.
Vibe units got more of a bassy, deep chorus thing. If that´s what you´re after, put it before overdrives.
Trower for example, have the DV and WAH first in line :Thumbs

Re: My VM got its fire baptism

Yes, that´s it, this amp sounds so good. I used to have a BIG pedalboard, with different kinds of overdrives and now I´m down to a Ibanez TS-808, Fulltone ´70 and a Fulltone Fat-Boost. They´re only used to add more gain or flavoure a particular song. I admitt, it takes a while to get used to what th...

Re: Question... Tube Vs Solid State

A long, long time ago I had a Fender 112SE, a Solid State 1X12 and it played loud as hell with really good distortion even at high volume! At that time I´ve had a couple of Solid State amps but that Fender was the best. I wish I still had it . I´ts discontinued for long, but if I see one I´ll buy on...

Re: Tubescreamer TS808

I use a TS-808 for "modern" kind of boost and a Fulltone ´70 for a "vintage" fuzzy boost.
Works great with my 2266,(1936V cab). Everything from blues to hardrock in HDR , detail 4-6, body 2-3, midboost ON,
MV 4+. The rest is from the guitar.
Great forum :Thumbs

Re: Fx Loop pb ?

Yes, I think something happends when I put pedals through the loop. I´ve got em´ all in front now!
There is something with the punch when hitting the strings, don´t really know, but that is how I feel it.

Re: Tung Sol KT-66!!???

OK, if the Tungsol is brighter than the JJs I would´nt put one in V2. I don´t know if there is a JJ stock in V2,
probably not, but it is bright enough. I think I get me four JJs and maby one Tungsol and try them
in different spots. Maby a Tungsol in V1 to get a little more bite LDR :beerme

Re: A ringing endorsement of the Vintage Modern

That must have been great. Trower is one of my top 5s. His tone is fat! Did you see his pedalboard,
was it all Fulltone as usall?
Would be nice to have someone like Mike Fuller to tweak up a new overdrive everytime you liked it :Thumbs

Re: Celestion Vintage 30???

I got my 1936V and I´ve played a couple of weeks with it. What a difference, I love the Vintage 30s. Now I got that Marshall bark, the mids are there but smooth, not plonky. Sounds best loud in a band situation. Don´t know if they´re broken in yet but I´m happy. Sounds much better than my boomy old ...

Re: Tung Sol KT-66!!???

Are the Tungsols as high gain as the JJ ECC83S, I´m thinking, a real high gain in V1 and a softer one in V2, can that maby get the two ranges closer together? LDR would sound great with a little more gain IMO. LDR takes overdrive pedals really good, but with a little more gain I would´nt need a over...

Re: Tung Sol KT-66!!???

That´s it, the metal base, Tungsol IS one of them. Could do damage!!!
I´ve ordered 2 spare Shuagang KT66s from Marshall.

Do you have any favorite preamp tubes, in V1 and V2 (JJs, Tungsols or whatever)
Thanks!!! :beerme
