Whats a good vinyl or padded cover?
Will any marshall 412 cabinet cover work , and any marshall head cover?
I saw a cover specifically for the 1959 head,,but not teh vintage modern

There is a specific cover for the head (it's a little deeper than most heads) but the cab is the same size so any Marshall 412 cover will work.
Marshall has covers and you can check aftermarket also. There are some nice ones on ebay.

Heck, I've used bar-b-que grill covers for my 4x12 cabs and they work great! Around $10 at home depot. When money is tight, but you gotta protect, you look for alternatives and it's worked for me!

There is a dedicated dust cover for the Vintage Modern heads and the Marshall part number is CVER - 00070 (cover 70).

So where have people been able to find the CVER - 00070 for sale? I've searched online and can't find it. I guess I can order it at the local GC but it would be easier to find it online.

D2F Covers are really nice. They are on E-Bay and I have one for my 2266C. They are padded enough to protect your amp from most small bumps and are well made. They are not too thick but are definitely durable.

Livewire,

I have the same cover for my 2266C also and I agree that it is a very nice product. I'm going to order one for the head I just bought too. There is another manufacturer that sell covers on ebay also. I can't remember off the top of my head what the company name is. I'll have to look it up. I bought one of these for my TSL601 and it is very nice also. It is made of heavy duty canvas but isn't padded. The company is located in eastern Texas somewhere, because when I ordered it, there was a delay due to hurricane damage. They were trying to get everything cleaned up. I'm not sure that they make a cover for the VM's though.

+1 on the D2F product....I have several of them for my various amp heads and they are great.....lightweight, durable....they do offer some minor protection as well. For my cabs I use tuki brand covers which in my opinion are equally as good.

I can't figure out why the Marshall USA web site store doesn't offer the VM head cover or KT66 replacement tubes. Sometimes I wonder why Marshall puts up with Korg USA.

Does anyone make a one-piece cover that will fit over both a VM head and 425 cab as a unit?

I'm planning to buy a VM in the next few weeks, but worried about my cat. He's clawed at my old Line 6 amp a few times (which I don't care about because it's old and not worth much anyway), but I just noticed some claw marks on the speaker cloth of my brand new Klipsh floor speakers (NOT okay). Separate covers for the head and cab will make prepping to play too much of a pain (I often pick up my guitars and play for 5-10 minutes at a time). So that really just leaves two options: 1) destroy the cat; 2) find a one-piece cover for the whole half stack. I'm leaning toward option 2, if it's possible.

Silverstone make fantastic covers in the UK. I have one for my 2266c and another for my JTM45, quality, padded and good people to deal with. Recommended ! Rob

The Vintage Modern cover from D2F is $49.95. I'm using a D2F I had from a JCM2000 head but the handle on the VM is positioned slightly different than the JCM. Call them and ask for a zipper pocket on the back and they'll put one in for a little more. I like to keep my power and speaker cord in there.
JMD:1 50W head (in the past: Marshall VM 2266/DSL 50/Mesa Boogie Stiletto/Dual Rec/Electra Dyne/Vox Night Train), Mesa Boogie V-30 Roadster cabs, Barber Tone Press, Eventide Timefactor, Nebula Mojohand Phaser, Xotic RC, Rocktron Talkbox, Guitars (1958 Historic Reissue Wildwood Spec LP, Custom Shop ES-335, Custom Shop LP Jr., Amer Deluxe Tele, '57 Reissue Strat, HSS Strat, Martin DC-16RGTE, Taylor 355CE 12 string, Godin A8 & Kentucky KM-1000 mandolins, Pono ukulele, Gold Tone PBS Resonator).
