New Amps

Postby crossroadsnyc » 02 Apr 2009, 11:07

Have you seen the new Marshall amps?

http://www.marshallamps.com/product_ran ... RangeId=28

I listened to the demonstrations of both, and prefer the sound of the 15w head. Can't say I was blown away by either though. Also, I'm guessing these are made in China?

What are your thoughts?

I thought all Marshalls were made in England?

I could be wrong on that, so maybe I'm just reading between the lines ... but when I read "UK Developed & Engineered", it just struck me as a little odd, and perhaps a way to tie in "UK Heritage" to the amp, despite being made elsewhere.

Anybody else have trouble watching the vids? I get about halfway through the 15 watt and it stops and don't even get to hear the 40 before it quits.

The MGs are made in Vietnam aren't they?

Back to the Haze, big difference between the 15 and 40 combo. And 6V6s again... Studio 15 anyone?

Be interesting to get some real reviews.

A lower wattage all tube amp is a market that's for sure.

They are actually manufactured in India to keep the pricing competitive.
Still my guitar gently weeps

They remind me of Valvestate amps with tubes.
Bought, sold, bought about every Marshall ever made!

My valvestate never sounded like those two do. That's why it is long gone! :draw

didnt sound too bad to my ears, but if they are not made in Jolly old England then they need to be priced accordingly

I read the combo will go for $1,000 & the head for $840 ... seems a bit steep to me for being made in India. :dunno
