Is that his home studio? i see mackie studio monitors (i think) and acoustic absorbers around the walls!

and the bulb on his 8 ohm THD is glowin pretty bright! so its attenuating a fair amount! which proves attenuators can sound pretty good!

NOT If it proves anything it is that Paul can make any amp choked off by an attenuator sound OK. That wasn't exactly good tone Paul had going there (Great lick though).

I'm warning you guys I think attenuator is going to become my second banned word here on the VM forum. The first was a name of a entertainer I cannot stand. If you you type her name the VM board will translate it for you.

Well let´s not be narrowminded here. When I play my plexi it´s impossible to play it on 8 without my Marshall PB. So it´s the second best for that amp and they can be quite handy.

yeah i have my THD for months now and only ever used it on -4dB or -8dB and didnt crank the MV much. but recently i started to raise the attenuation and raise the master volume and i think it helps a lot. rather than playin at below 1!

Surf, obviously you are used to cranking your amps like the metro and others. I'm fairly certain if i was used to cranking amps like that then i would prob hate using attenuators too! ha!

I think PG uses his VM in HDR mode. He uses the Detox to cut the gain for "cleaner" parts.
Notice at 0:23+-. He engages the Detox.
