Preamp Tubes?

I just wanted to get a thread going (I couldn't find one) on what preamp tubes people have liked/disliked in the VM.

I just bought a used 2266 with the stock tubes in it, I've got a quad of JJ ECC83S on hand that I'm going to try soon to see how much difference there is. My only gripe with the amp is I do find on HDR the highs can be a bit bitey and harsh. I've put JJ's in amps in the past and found they helped smooth things out a bit. I play through a 2x12 with an Eminence Governor/Wizard combo.
