Daddy's sitting on the porch tonight
his fingers are torn to the bone
How many days just passed him by that a man would feel alone

Years went by his body beaten by the hammer and the sword
Though he wouldn't talk about it - hell he just went back for more
Mama tried to cheer him up but the bills still need to be paid
She would pray for him wrap his wounds - and send him on his way

He came home late one night
his clothes blackened by the coal
he said come on here my son and tell old Dad how you been

Years went by his body beaten by the hammer and the sword
Though he wouldn't talk about it - hell he just went back for more
Mama tried to cheer him up but the bills still need to be paid
She would pray for him wrap his wounds - send him on his way

Daddy was a Miner Mama was a Lady
they had four kids together
Daddy was good man Mama kept him going I know they are forever

Years went by his body beaten by the hammer and the sword
Though he wouldn't talk about it - hell he just went back for more
Mama tried to cheer him up but the bills still need to be paid
She would pray for him wrap his wounds - send him on his way

Sounds great surf! I'm sure the miner folk would eat that right up. Send that clip down to WV radio stations and I'll bet you get that played on air!

The timing of the singing at the beginning sounds little off sync with the beat.

Yea I hear it too, I have to get better at monitoring the track while I sing, I really need to just build a soundproof singing booth. There is also a lead that is way off also I need to fix but that is all touch up stuff.

Thanks
