The blues band I am in did a board mix last week

Postby Tnjpekar » 07 Sep 2008, 17:31

Hey Guys, we did a two track board mix the other day on a couple of tunes, was hoping you guys would give a listen. Not going to be the permanent material
up there, but enough to get feedback and maybe put out for a gig or two.
no overdubs, just the three of us, guitar, bass and the drummer on a roland electric kit thru the board and taken from there. We baisically started taking this thing seriously in July, and have close to thirty tunes now under our belts. figure we should be up to the magic 42 by the end of the month, so we are looking to start booking. just want to see if we are on the right track.

Shame Shame - Get on with your badselfs... blues is what it is and that was enjoyable, had my dancing shoes on!

Come together - Band music was fine Vocals don't work, he needs to sing it different (more subtle) and back off the repeats on the mic echo

Rock Candy - Dude... where is that pick slide on the opening rifff....shame on you, other than that small detail the song came off great for this classic, solid playing (again back off the repeats on the vocal mic)

Have your singer look into a Digitech Vocalist live 4, will really help the quality of his singing and harmonies for your three piece band.

BTW I love your tone, I hear OD, chorus for sure and perhaps a hint of flange or phase?

Thanks Joe,
We had our first gig on Sunday and were hoping some of the vid our bassplayers GF took will be worthy. Haven't seen it yet, he said we should wait till next rehearsal to draw a verdict.
if its not too terrible, I will try to put up some clips.

Thanks Ro,
as I said, it was a board mix and a rough one at that. hopefully we will re do it and have a better vocal bit in there. we do a killer mustang sally, but that one had more echo than the grand canyon

Shame shame shame sounds awesome. The voice of the singer fits this song like a glove.
I am more a blues player than bluesrock but that sounded very good.
