Def Leppard Styx & Tesla on tour

thought ya might like this-

but-

Lep singer Joe Elliott explained his reluctance in an interview with Billboard, pointing out, “We have to keep an extremely tight ship when there’s three bands on. You go one minute overtime and they’re fining everybody $25,000 a minute or something. And we’re not gonna drop one of our songs to have a 10-minute blues jam with Styx or Tesla. I don’t really see the appeal.”

That is a good classic rock lineup. I am already putting my concert tour together for 2015. So far all I have is Mark Knopfler, Tom Petty, and the private Queensryche show. I will pass on Def L, Tesla, and Styx... seen that to many times. Ironically last time I seen DL they were with Tesla.

What is really sad is that the biggest tours are the old classic bands from the 70s, that doesn't say much about modern rock or bands from the last 10 years.

I just saw that Def Leppard and Extreme are performing at a festival this summer (in Finland), and being a big fan of Nuno I might "have to" go there.

I've seen Styx, but boy I'd love to go see Extreme.

I think you're seeing the final burn of the rock and roll flame. All these old guys still playing songs from 30-40 years ago. When the current crop of tour finally fade away, you won't see rock anymore. You won't see it at all in 10yrs. It's a dying genre. I hope to fade away in the same glorious fashion.

I hear that said a lot but I always see these festivals w/ huge lineups, especially in Europe.
I think it just sucks more in America & radio/tv perception doesn't make it any better.
