Will this harm my 1959 reissue amp?

Postby Mats A » 21 Jun 2009, 06:02

My brother solved a big ghosting problem on my 1991 made plexi reissue by changing the 2 capacitors that goes to the Bridge Rectifier and originally is connected both in series and parallel so they are only connected in series. This will increase the capacitance (filtering) but decrease how much Volt it can take. He also disconnected the center tap.
What is the purpose of the center tap really? Marshall hasn´t always had this on there 1959 amps.
Thanks for any help!
