no I didn't, but the guy who plays on my record does. And most of the amps he used on the album. :p

Re: Amp Wish List

First off; I am satisfied with my two amps.( did i said that???)

The Vernet FLV45 (handwired JTM45 -KT66 ) i bought out of curiosty for a original JTM45.
The vintage modern is way more versatile but for a bluesplayer a JTM45 is just magic.

the only amp ( i had a few...) i really sold with pain in my heart was a....
VOX AC30CC2 .Man TONE TONE ...My neighbours in the whole street could not
respond when i cranked it   they were in a state of shock
After playing my ears were ringing for hours so i just did not wanted to go deaf!!!
After 6 months i sold it.

I played my guitar teachers amp a few times :ENGL 120 savage limited edition.
This amp can do it all but could blow a vox ac30 away easily.
I tried alot of amps but volumewise the two i got works best for me.
After spending alot of money i found out that the right output (wattage/volume)
is important. My marshall and vernet give very good clean sounds and i do not have to blow the
windows out to get them in overdrive. That is why marshall/marshall like amps rules for me.....

The last amp on my wish list was the Vintage Modern. So I'm OK for now. Well, I do lust for a Twin Reverb from time to time as it might be the perfect compliment to a 2466 head and 4X12 cab.

Somebody on this forum hook his VM to the speakers of his twin reverb ....
Sounded exactly the same!!!
So there goes your wishlist....
The cleanest amp i heard so much about but never tried is a Roland JC-120.
Also known for being too loud with the volume on one....( my luck again)

I am blessed enough that I have most of my dream amps. There are some amps that I would certainly be glad to have (like a Sampson era Matchless DC-30, a Divided By 13 FRT33, a PRS Sewell combo, or a Two Rock John Mayer head), but the one amp I really want is a 1959 Bandmaster 3x10 combo. Good luck, right! Couldn't afford one anyway. I would probably settle for a Victoria 35310. I have heard Clark makes a pretty good Bandmaster clone.
The goal is soul. May the Force be with you.

In all my years of playing the three amps I currently own fits perfect. The Metro 69 plexi was the last piece. If I cannot find a tone I want between my amps and different guitars then I can build a model in my Digitech GSP 1101. No I am done wishing for other amps, what I have I love.

Not sure if you're refering to me, but I did this and it did not sound the same. Sounded better IMO. I ended up selling my G12Cs and replacing them with Jensen C12Ks. Keep in mind that I've been playing Fender amps for many years and that's the tone I'm used to. My 2466 now sounds almost like a Fender on steroids. A LOT of steroids!

And MKB, the Twin and 2466 are the perfect pair IMO. Especially if you run them in stereo.

If I were to make a wish list, it would include my 2266 currently being used. The only other thing I'd wish for is a matching 425 cabinet or two, and another amp of some sort for modern high gain like an Engl Fireball.

Feeling pretty blessed at the moment... the VM, a Lone Star Special Head, a Super Reverb Reissue (Weber speakers, JJ Tubes) and a Blues Jr., offer all the tone I can possibly explore in a lifetime. But if I was forced  to come up with a list of others... another Marshall, something from Dr. Z, the proverbial "Dumble" clone maybe from Ceriatone, and I'm very curious about the new Sewell designs from Paul Read Smith and Divided by 13's products.

Its just another day and another $10,000. :D

A 2266 head, one of the new Fender Twin pro series amps (a Twin with an effects loop and switcheable power - 25 watts!!)), a Soultone 1987ps head w/ matching 2x12 cab (made right here in AZ, but way out of my budget).

Get an old (pre-67) Bassman head and you'll about cover both of those.
