Fuse Blowing and Sovtek EL84M

I just acquired a Class 5. Love the amp, but like many I was looking for a touch more headroom. Read in many places that the Sovtek EL84M would accomplish this. Tone wise the EL84M did what I wanted. But, like others have noted, within minutes the T125mAL250V fuse inside on the board blew.
Is this an issue with the EL84M not liking the Class 5?
Have there been any users that have been able to successfully use the EL84M ?
Having a hard time thinking I may have gotten a bum tube as this seems like almost a common issue.

Thanks!! :help

I would say the tube has a bad filament, that is what continues to blow the fuse. Has nothing to do with the amp liking or not liking the amp.

Ive been seeing several posts from others stating the same issue with using the EL84M. Works fine for a few minutes or at LOW volumes, then once it's turned up, KA-BLAMMO!
Could all of these other people, myself included, have "faulty" tubes? Is there anyone that has used the EL84M successfully without popping fuses?

I've had the 84M in my Class 5 head for about a month now. Played daily, but never turned up past 6. But no problems so far...

I had this problem too in my C5-01 combo. First time the used a EL84M the amp worked fine for a couple of minutes before blowing the fuse. Got a replace EL84M after posting about it here on the forum, replaced the faulty tube with the new one and it worked great for a few weeks before the fuse blew again. I haven't bothered with the EL84M since and have stuck with a JJ EL84 ever since.
