2003 JCM800 2203x - New Amp day

Postby Papa-J » 24 Feb 2011, 19:25

Hey all, even though I landed a 2266 Vintage Modern 3 days ago, Tonight I was lucky enough to get my hands on a mint 2003 JCM800 2203 Reissue. What a great find and I think the price was reasonable.

Great amp. That was my first Marshall head and my main gigging amp for almost 2 years.
It has tons of balls and in my opinion does not back down from the original 2203/2204 from th 80's.
I've had a few of those since as well.
And I love the loop on it .. used it for boost & delay.

Thanks, yes it sure does look brand new, it was a good find, usually my luck is the other way around but this time everything lined up for me :)

I think they hold there own too against the originals, My friend jams with me and he has an original vertical input and it's his back-up amp he uses his reissue because it sounds identical, so there no use to scratch up the original one.
I'll be running my MXR line driver and a Wylde overdrive with a smartgate, thats pretty much my set-up all out front of the amp, into a LP. Easy and tough set-up and it sounds killer.

I took a look under the hood cause I was curious and I'm pretty sure this thing is not stock.
Could someone tell me what these changes would do.
thanks
