Evolution of the JCM800 split channels 2205/2210

Postby pleximaster » 03 Apr 2012, 23:19

Could we try to put together a description of the evolution of the 2205/2210 Marshalls between 1982-1990. From the white 20th anniversary heads till the introduction of the JCM900. Bleed through, tone stack placement, master volume changes, filter caps and filtering and so on. There seems to be a lot of info on the net that are quite contradicting. Some say these years are better than those and so on, but thats all subjective. However, if we just get the circuitry differences straight people can make up there own opinion on tone preference.

There is two major curcuits of this amp. The first is quite different and had a PPIMV. Think the curcuit was changed in 83 or 84. Also from what i know the channel bleeding was fixed around 85-86 and the ones from later years are the best.
