Any one have any JB tone setting using JCM 2000 TSL

Postby jlcampbell1995 » 02 Mar 2012, 13:07

I have recently acquired a JCM 2000 TSL, I was hoping some one could give me some killer setting for that Joe Bonamassa type tone. I know that he runs stereo wet dry with multiple amps. I do that as well, Im just curious as to what some other users of this amp have come up with tone setting wise. I run in stereo with A VM through a split 425A with 25watt Green Backs. Thanks!!!

This is always hard to recommend because your chain is not going to be the same as mine. Speakers used, guitar, pickups all play into this. Joe's sound is not that difficult IMO and the TSL should get you there. Would definitely use the channel 2 crunch to start with then with a neutral eq dial in the gain you want. Do this with your guitars volume at around 6 so you have some headroom for solo's.

Once you dial that in I would then start adjusting the treble mids and bass in that order. Then a little reverb and you should have it.

Thanks dude, my PRS has Dimarzio 36 anniversary pups, very low out put pups. My chain is Vox Wah, Polytune, TS808, EVH Phase 90, Boss Chorus just for splitting the signal. I like the od2 channel, I will try it out! Thanks!
