DSL vs JVM

Postby noise5150 » 03 Feb 2011, 09:23

I own a DSL 50 (VM cab) and my brother owns a JVM410 (1960 cab) - both rigs are set up next to each other and I have to say that as much as I think the JVM is a great amp, I prefer the tone of my DSL. I cant put my finger on it but the JVM has a more "sizzly" sound to the gain whereas I find the DSL has more of midrange punch to it that I prefer. I have had both hooked up to the same cabs and still the result is the same. What are your thoughts?

Exact opposite for me hough I just got the JVM. The DSLs I had I never could bond with, even modding one of them. Sold both the DSLs.
JVM easily outperforms the DSL so far and that with stock tubes and little tweaking
Crossroadsnyc douche of the year, and everyone at TGP tied for 2nd
