SChool me on the Marshall 8200

Hi Gang, well, I was crusing CL and came across a Marshall 8200 for $220.00

Marshall 8200,
great condition,
fully functioning,
200w,
4-band eq,
1 preamp tube just replaced,
4 speaker outputs,
smooth knobs, no rust just put deoxit,
real spring reverb.
Has that mean marshall crunch.
selling because i have 2 more heads and i need to make room.
FOOTSWITCH INCLUDED.



For that price I thought it was a SS amp but the ad says, tube replaced.
Is the a hybrid with a 12ax7 preamp tube?

Jep, hybrid! I think it has only one tube in preamp. The rest is solid state.
You can get som ok cleans but distortion is bad. I had VS100 for a while and it just didn't work for me.

Mike i think the guy has the model # wrong it should be an 8100.
Its got one 12ax7a in the preamp and SS for the rest. I used one of these for a few years and it wasnt that bad. My experience was the distortion channel sounded mean and the clean just like SS. The only real issue was it couldnt drive the low end when cranked like a tube head will. If the price is right it might be fun to play with. Mine was very reliable.
