My amp is upside down!

Postby Sebb » 07 Feb 2011, 13:52

...or is it yours?

I was watching the JMD Marshall Theater again to write down the settings now we have those (thanks!) and noticed all the knobs are backwards to my 501. Everything from the input socket to the power knobs are in the opposite order. Then I checked out the other amps and found it's the same on all of them, and I'm just being a noob.
Still curious - why everything in the opposite order? Something about heat dissapation?
So now if I upgrade to a head I have to learn everything backwards ;-)

Combos are mounted upside down then the same amp going into a head, if they wern't your combo would be taller. While in a head the tubes are facing up in a combo they are always facing down. Combos also use a different faceplate otherwise the lettering would also be upsidedown. Just adjust your setting in the opposite order.

Marshall 2466 - Marshall JMD1 - Marshall 1987
No one wants to hear 64 bars full of 32nd-notes except the douche-bag blowing them from the stage.

When you take the chassis of the head and flip it over with the
tubes down and put it in a combo .......what would happen with
the postion of the knobs.......

You do not have to learn anything because you can store 28 presets.

Then mount it upside down so then two wrongs make the face plate right although then the clock wise motion is now counter clock wise..... lol
