Paul Gilbert to tour with Vintage Moderns and JMDs

Postby SteveD » 20 Feb 2011, 06:47

Paul will be playing Vintage Modern 2266 half stacks and JMD 100W half stacks for the Mr Big tour.

Cabs are 1960BVs.

He's also discovered the JMD makes a great acoustic amp. I am told preamp 2 is his favourite for this!

This is really cool, there are about four of us here that I know of that run both VMs and JMD1 amps. Just tried my Godin LGX-SA guitar in acoustic mode with the JMD and it not only sounds great you can really crank it up with no distortion (I put a little phase on it also) Pre-amp 3 sounded good for acoustic lead playing too.

Got a chance to meet Paul at the Marshall booth at NAMM, Santiago introduced me to him. I had no idea he was as tall as he is. Super nice guy and needless to say one heck of a talent. Enjoyed talking with him.
