I would also shadow Steve's comments as my Footswitch was sent away, returned and has since worked fine without me having to touch anything on the amp including the FX loop.
Was yours doing the same thing as mine?

Wow thats scary, venture off the beaten path and program the head to your liking and it locks up or channels do not switch properly? Its been a few weeks also for me and not any issues and have even gone back to the supplied chord from Marshall and the unit works fine.

yeah scary... but it didnt work after first time reset....

1. reset - after i stored my presets to bank A and B ....didnt work after storing of presets on bank B (weird)

2. reset - i stored presets only on bank A.....works until now

i wasnt trying too much because i got gig that day....but i´ll try when then problem starts... now i use preset mode only on bank A ... maybe i should try to use other banks to store my presets... should i? I am happy that it works now ok :think

Yeah mine works now also, while its still suspect what really caused this issue hopefully the Marshall guys are working on this issue. Its nicely documented here on the site and its also now being posted on other sites so its not a random thing. There has to be a common ground that causes this issue with the amp not switching channels.

Steve?

Happened again on Friday night during a jam. This time switch 4 bank A.

All other switches, including the 5th and 6th to move up and down banks, worked fine. When I moved up and down banks, switch 4 didn't work for any of them. After a few attempts with my foot I leaned down and used my hand and it worked! After a bit of experimenting I worked out that if I pressed the switch while I was touching the base of the switch with my thumb (where the chrome nut meets the black face of the foot switch), the switch worked but if I only pressed the top of the switch with my finger (no thumb) it didn't. Could this be a sign of an earthing/dry connection problem(bad solder) during assembly? This may explain why only a few people have experienced the problem. I hand tightened the nut as is seemed a little loose and the switch started working fine again, even when using my foot to switch channels.

Steve - let us know what details you need from us to help troubleshoot the problem. Different people have had success using a variety of methods but I suspect some of the methods may have just been coincidence.

Can the guys who have had this problem recall whether switch 'N' stopped working for all banks or just one?

Interesting, did you go through and tighten all the nuts on the switches? I just checked mine and they are all tight although I could have torqued them more but didn't.

No - just the non-working switch.
