does it heart the amp?

hi guys i played in my room yesterday and i wanted to see how strong the amp, so i softly brought up the master volume to 13 o clock and suddenly there was a very high sound and i turned the master to 1, i set in front of the amp,
does it should happened? does it heart the amp?

What was the "high" sound? Generally no, you can run the amp as loud as you want without hurting anything. Running it at 1 oclock is perfectly fine.

i think the high sound was because i was in front of the amp very close and i was in overdrive channel without my hand on the string and brought the master to 5

It might not hurt the amp but it can and will damage the speakers and your hearing

no one knows that but you, so many factors there. How loud, were the speakers broke in, how long did you do this, what freq were being amplified etc.....

I don't want to overtake the thread but regarding the pic I posted...
This is a classic Hendrix photo, just shows what a showman he was really , I remember documentary about him and one of those guys behind amp talks about it....''I was behind the amp holding it while he was...long pause...fucking it..." and that's just hilarious, all that noise and feedback and those poor men holding the amp. :bgrin
