New Recording of the JMD 100 using the XLR out

Postby surfnorthwest » 23 Apr 2010, 22:09

I recorded this over the past week using the JMD 100 with its direct out XLR for recording. The guitar used preamp 1 and preamp 10 for this song. I think you will agree that no microphone is needed. This one was recorded in my Pink Floyd style.

:clap AWESOME

Surf, i never had a amp with EL34 powertubes before, is it true that
these tubes have a gnarly mindrangy kinda sound?????
On this forum most of us described the KT66 sound as a milkshake
thick creamy sound which is correct, also i find it very balanced in
bass midd treble. On the 16 preamp clips you posted on the MA forum
( simply your best post) i found the strat sounded very midrangy and
very dumblelesk if i might say(i really liked that). The strat sounded better than the les paul or is it just me... :high .
On the you tube clips it is so hard to compare the sounds.
:bang I know i should make time to testdrive this amp .

Thanks for listening to the clip/

One of the issues I am dealing with this amp is that once I get a really good sound dialed in for a certain style using a Les Paul it will then have to be tweaked for a Strat to get the same thing. This is true on any amp of course but more so it seems with this one. Not a bad thing all just have to remember when I save the presets if they are Strat or LP presets.

As far as the EL34 sound it is different than the KT66 tone, I like them both.
