My Brother I love David and his work...

I am all over Floyd and tones, for the David tone you need to first put down every guitar and pick up your Strat. David mixes his distortion and clean tones so I would suggest you use the following; although the settings are for you to decide how much.

David uses ear candy galore; start with the guitar it has to be a single coil equipped guitar (Strat, Tele). The sweet spot on a Strat is the second position for Bridge and Middle pups, with lead being the Neck pup. He loves effects like Chorus with Delay in fact on Run Like Hell he uses a delay at 300ms I would use the delay but not mixed in too deep (if that makes sense). The Chorus he like is also a Flanger type Chorus and it needs to be somewhat thick and in the mix. Remember ear candy...

Now go play.............. lol

That does sound nice, very creamy. To my ears it sounds like the haze crunch preamp. I haven't got a strat, so can't help you there, but guitarest sounds like he knows what's what.

The biggest difference is what schnullyman said : put the volume at
9 oclock and the mastervolume at 12.00 or 15.00 oclock gives a much
thicker at fatter sound.

OK I played with the settings on my JMD and came up with this one. Using the 2nd position on a Strat

Master................. what ever you'd like
Presence.............. maybe a 2.5
Verb...................... 4.5
delay level................5
delay type............... 11:00 position if a clock
Mod depth...............5
mod adjust.............. chorus swirl
Vol.........................5
treb........................ 7
mid........................5
bass........................ 7
gain....................... 4
pre amp................. classic #9

For the delay try to guess for run like hell on the tap,

Thanks man , i figured something very similar out .
This amp is perfect for this kind of sustaining lead sounds.
The delay in combination with the studio(?) reverb that decays more at
higher settings gives a big contribution to that.

Sorry man,
Thats the problem with more than one amp...... :bang
I had received my strymon el capistan pedal ( tape echo delay.) and
this is the ultimate delay that sounds just as good as a real tape echo
unit. It sounded so good with the vintage modern that i did not even
have thought about to try it with the JMD.Although i found with my
other pedals that the JMD sounds best with the on board effects .

I have had a few delays: Elektro harmonix memory man deluxe
Boss DD-20
danelektro reel tape echo-1

But this the el capistan is head and shoulders above them!!!!

I am just a simple blues player , and no expert in david gilmour songs
but i just wanted to try to dial it in. Your settings gave the sound so i
can not give a better setting...
Thanks for your seting!
:Cheers

Oh please your as good as any one else, thanks for the kind remarks. Good luck with the new toys but gotta warn ya don't let the JMD find out your being unfaithful. The damn thing is more computer than anything else and it will contact your DVR and screw up all your user settings if it finds out your doing this......
