AFD100 Covers (Gary Moore, Petrucci, Motley Crue..)

Postby Encore » 16 Oct 2012, 08:49

Here is the cover of this song. Me and my friend (who played the song) recorded it today.
We are going to make some more covers soon, so we would like to know what you think about it.
Watch in 720p. Enjoy! :)

P.S. You can also check out his absolutely stunning cover of Yngwie Malmsteen - Brothers.

Thanks! Yes, AFD100 loves Strats too. It was interesting to make something unusual. Who needs another one Sweet Child Of Mine cover played with AFD100 and Les Paul ?

Unreal cover! I've found the AFD100 can get an amazing blues sound. Can't believe that you had the gain cranked on that... Fantastic tone.

Actually, I had a friend over who borrowed my Telecaster and plugged it in... #34... Rolled down the volume and voila... chickenpickin' sound...
Not the best naturally... but that could be a volume thing as well... I've yet to crank this one...

I don't know.. You can easily get clean tone with this Strat just by rolling the volume back. Gain was set to 10 and TS9 was turned on all the time, that's for sure.

Thanks for the second demo, mate! If you have the chance, do try the AFD100 with a Mesa cab,
you would be astonished by how much more modern it can sound. I use my head with a Stiletto
cab, which is Mesa's somewhat vintage take on their regular range. It is not as modern sounding
as the Rectifier, but still a bit more modern than Marshall cabs.

To be honest, I'd like to put my hands on Mesa cab or amp, but I'm not the metal guy and I would rather go for one more Marshall cab with greenbacks or a plexi than something more modern.
Anyway I know what you're saying, Mesa cab would help us getting closer to the original tone of this song. Well, of course it could be better but.. It is the first time that we've recorded a tube amp with mic and we used what was available.

Fantastic! What kind of speakers do you have in the cab?
