When i was marshall i would say '' save the best for last''blue wrote:looks like almost the perfect Marshall to me. i was intrigued by the AFD100, but i actually WANT this! :)
YJM didn't play hot-rodded marshall's. He played standard 1959 plexis with a DOD250 pushing the preamp section, which is why I think it's totally cool that this amp sounds a bit more "vintage" compared to the AFD100..riden21 wrote:i like the AFD100 way more, it sounds juicier and more like an hot rodded marshall should IMO
I would say the yjm is the way for EJ seeing as how uses a plexi on 10 with a boost in front.joec63 wrote:Agree, they both are great products from what I can tell. My concern with the AFD is how much it cleans up or not. I havent seen a good demonstration yet as understandably everyone's first instinct is to crank out the GNR catalog. I'm looking for some versatility as well. So which amp will also crank out some Eric Johnson like tone with a strat and also rock hard?
I've heard it first hand at a slash show, the AFD cleans up fantastic! I have the CD from the show (although I think its off the sound board) and will try to post the blues jam he does before going into the Godfather theme. It is all bluesy fat goodness.joec63 wrote:Agree, they both are great products from what I can tell. My concern with the AFD is how much it cleans up or not.
