Wow they built my Metro replacement. :dance

Talk about great timing. Was looking for another 1959 type amp and this should fit the bill just perfect. Soooo, they must have known I was in the market for a replacement of my 1959 Metro. :bgrin Oh wait, this one has some way cool features like the power scaling and a half power switch. See it also has the auto bias and a built in noise gate and built in reverb.

Probably going to be one of the first amps I look at. I need to find the Marshall NAMM 2011 schedule as I am sure Yngwie will be doing a live demo of this amp there. Be very interesting to see how much natural gain this thing has. This thing has cool written all over it and knowing Yngwie's tone it should be a beast.

Truly great features on this one, can't ask for anything more really. Have to wonder who was the Marshall engineer working with Yngwie on this, it has a lot in common with the AFD100 but voiced more to a true 1959 so I am going to assume this is also one of Santiago's builds.

1. Footswitchable* Boost with controls for Volume and Gain on the rear panel.

2. Footswitchable* Noise Gate with rear panel Threshold control.

3. Footswitchable* studio quality Digital Reverb with rear panel Level control.

4. Footswitchable* Series FX Loop

5. Half power switch which takes the output power from 100W to 50W when engaged.

6. Built-in, infinitely variable Attenuator control which can take the output stage from 100% to 0.01% and
anywhere in-between, while retaining the all-important tone and feel of the all-valve power section. This means the output power can be reduced to a staggering low of 0.05 Watts when in 50W power mode.

7. Valve Failure Circuitry: meaning that if one of the output valves develops a fault, a visual indicator on the rear of the amplifier shows which one is working incorrectly. This “roadie friendly feature” will save valuable time getting the amplifier back up and running again, should a valve failure occur.

8. Self-biasing circuitry to ensure proper power valve operation each time valves are changed.

9. A four-way Footcontroller (PEDL-00046) comes supplied with the YJM100,
facilitating switching of Booster, Gate, Reverb and FX Loop features. This Footcontroller has been designed using Marshall Amplification's patented STOMPWARE® Technology, allowing the user to connect it to the amp using a standard 1/4" guitar cable.

I also think it's Santiago Alvarez, this amp is in the same line as the AFD, so he might have been designing the too at the same time???!!! :Stir
For sure, I never liked his previous amps like the JVM, but this one looks soo sweet!

For those of you that are interested in this amp check this site out, its written in Czech. They got 2315.36 Euros price for it, and say that there are only 2300 of em made. Not sure how reliable this is, but looks official with a quick glance.

At this point I think the price is a guess and has not been published. They said they would annouce the price at NAMM next week. If I remember the AFD100 was also showing up with a pretty steep price only to settle at 2k. I suspect this amp might be a couple hundred more, my guess is $2300.00/

The AFD100 sounds I have heard have been nothing close to to my 1959HW. This amp looks like they took a 1959SLP and made many modifications to it, some of them I would like myself.

I imagine it also has 4-5 preamp tubes to get the kind of gain that hippie plays with. If you can keep the tone of a 1959 intact and add some gain stages this might be a very good amp for guys that play hard rock. For me I just put a OD in front of mine and it has all the gain you can handle.

While I really like the classic look of this amp, I don't care for many of the controls placed on the back of the amp. Makes adjustments difficult especially while on stage.

TOTALLY COOL!!!! I think the AFD and YJM would be all the Marshall I need. Man, I kind of want this more than the AFD....SHIT!

I always thought that YJM ues 50W heads....well I guess it can kind of be 50W with the half power switch.

Looks like Yngwie will be at the Marshall booth. I don't know if he is just going to talk about the amp or if the amp will be available for him to play. Either way I will get the scoop on it and hopefully some video. Maybe he will sign it for me and I can buy it and take it home, wishful thinking. :nope

I'm not a fan of Yngwie by any stretch of the imagination & generally have a strong distaste for "signature" gear, but this one has got my attention.

Will this amp have the ability to boost the volume for solos? Doesn´t it have a master like the AFD?

I'm not a massive Yngwie fan by any measure, but I'm very, very excited about this amp. Looks like Marshall have taken 30 years to get around to out modding the modders. Unlike other posters I love the extra controls on the back, keeping the front looking totally standard. I do hope it sounds like the Friedman modded 1959T at 6:20 in this video:

Who have designed this amp, Santiago, Steve D or some other? Any clues on this.
