In honor of Phil Hughes - cricketers only

Postby shaun » 28 Nov 2014, 00:58

Im Australian and i love my cricket.
Australian batsman Phil Hughes died of a head wound from a bouncer cricket ball.
Despite all of the media bullshit of how Phil was this and that, i believed he was a great opening batsman. I believe he and Dave Warner would have made a great opening pair, and they were also great mates off the field.

Phil fought his way into the test team, and was dropped, and fought his way back, and was dropped, and fought his way back, and was dropped, and i feel was going to be in the next test match at no.1 or no.3.

Some players are picked and never dropped from the team. Others picked and dropped and never heard of again.
Phill kept on trying and kept on finding a way back into the team.

I don't buy into all of the media bullshit, but i have watched and played enough cricket in my lifetime to feel that Phill would have been back, simply due to his perserverence. I also just liked watching him bat. I used to be an opening bat myself so i know the mindset it takes.
"Anyway, I see this forum isn't too happening, but hopefully I'll get some responses." Sully

"I find the above statement offensive. Funny, but offensive. No offense intended by my comments." Shaun

Tragic. Could easily have occurred at a local sports club game or even high school.......a frightening thought
