Guess who's rig this is.

Postby surfnorthwest » 07 Oct 2013, 20:10

As the 2013 LA Amp show gets under way this is on display there.

With a original Uni-Vibe, a Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, a Tycobrahe Octavia, a 1953 Diaz-modded Feder Bassman, a Fender Vibratone cabinet, and a mid-'80s Hamiltone S-style guitar

:doh Well yes it is, I thought I blurred that enough.

SRV rig belongs to Guitar Center in LA and they have it on display.

Funny but the guitar gave it away for me even before I made out the name I remember a n old 80s guitar mag interview where he had jus gotten the ham intone and was really proud of it uz it had his name right on the neck and more important he really dug how it sounded through his bassman in he's words a " meaty tone that just hangs in the air a magic sound man"

Wow. That is surprisingly close to the basic Hendrix rig. Was SRV trying to emulate it?

I was going to say Kenny Wayne Shepherd. I remember reading awhile back that SRV gave Kenny one of his Hamiltones.

Well, don't tell Sigi that and that's the main reason I would go to an amp show.
