That sounds great. He must be using a pedal to get that amount of gain. It shows that solid state is dull compared to valve amps.

Cool video... I love this amp.
Actually, is the Orange not a tube amp also?

The tiny terror on the video is a tube amp.
I agree with Al that it sounds dull compared with the JCM1.
Orange's micro terror has a preamp tube and a solid state power amp.

Sorry my bad. I thought it was the micro terror. IT must be the way he set them up. I've never heard an Orange valve amp sound dull before, maybe if we only heard the Orange we'd think it was OK. Anyway, the Marshall sounds best here.

Al
Al, i had a Tiny Terror, really wanted to love it, it sounded great with an EQ pedal in front to take out the low mid boost, but on its own it was way too dark and muddy for me. Loved the idea, just wrong EQ voicing for me, sold it, but then they came out with the Jim Root model with BMT. Fucking cunts, Orange, now an OR15 is in the thoughts. (GAS has now gone, can understand where it comes from, but now GAS is a luxury that won't happen, and can't afford.

(Maybe GAS is now a problem for you Al?)

The Tiny Terror is all valve, no diodes etc.
The JCM1 uses LEDS for the 'Jube' mode, and sounds shit, fizzy etc. to me. Makes me ask why so many people love the Jube. It is just an early JCM4100 in the making. All you Slash/Saul fanfoys, deal with it.

Oh thanks Shaun, I didn't know the TT was supposed to be dull. Most Orange amps are a bit fizzy on the top end. That's what I don't like about them and why I prefer Marshall. I'm always looking at new stuff and questioning whether I'm on the right track with my tone. And if I could only keep 1 amp it would be the YJM plexi

I've never heard an Orange amp in person. I had a friend at work that had a Tiny Terror years ago and bragged on it. A low wattage production amp like that was still a new thing though. Nothing resembling what's available now.

JCM1 sounds better.

I think a big part of the TTs "dullness" is probably the difference in volume and the production after it hitting the mic, the TT is a seriously loud 15 watts, if he has done it a jcm1 levels then there again lies another reason for it sounding dull.. The amp definitely has a classic voicing but the few I've played for a much more cutting sound from how I dialled them in
les Paul -> cry baby -> mxr/CAE boost/line driver -> mxr m77 super bad ass modified OD -> marshall 2266 front end ->loop -> TC flashback delay -> mxr 10 band EQ -> marshall sv-1 chorus -> loop return -> marshall mf280a 4x12 cab
