I finally got a sound clip for you

Postby molodoi » 02 Jan 2010, 01:30

We (my band is named ONEonONE - http://www.oneonone-music.be) finally finished recording (and mixing) our EP

Here is an extract (last song of the EP) :
http://www.fileden.com/files/2008/3/18/ ... ngleEP.mp3

I suppose you will all recognize the song (even though we modified the intro, a Hard Rock standard).

There are 4 guitars on the track: 3 for the rythmn, 1 for the lead.

For the rythmn, one guitar is played by Franck (the other guitarist in ONEonONE). He played with his Fender Stratocaster plugged into a Vox Night Train. I played the two other rythmn guitars. One was my Gibson SG (using the bridge pickup), the other one being the Les Paul (using the neck pickup). Be careful, I changed the Les Paul pickups, replacing the Burstbucker with Andreas Kloppmann HB 58 (http://www.kloppmann-electrics.de/en/pickups/paf/)

I played the lead with the Les Paul, on the bridge pickup (also an HB 58).

I was on the HD range of the VM for both rythmn & lead. Here are my settings:
Body: 3.5
Detail: 7
Treble: 4
Middle: 6.5
Bass: 5.5
Presence: 8
Reverb: 2

No pedals added

Enjoy :rocker

The tone from the amp works well and the lead guitar cuts through although I would bring up the volume in the mix some more. I thought the Les Paul sounded good.

Ouuch. Simple question, difficult answer. To be honest, I don't remember. Probably as usual, i.e., 3.5 (4 being a maximum)

I don't know Franck's settings. He changes frequently (the Nighttrain was new when we recorded, as he bought it a couple of days before, and he used the studio sessions for experimentations).

Sorry, I can't be more precise on that point :Embaresed
